Self Care
Making time for yourself, one small moment at a time.

We make time for so many people.
We check on our family. We listen to our friends. We show up when someone needs help, encouragement or a shoulder to lean on. Somewhere between our responsibilities and our desire to be there for everyone else, our own needs can quietly move to the bottom of the list.
But you deserve some of that same care.
Self-care looks different for each of us. For one person, it may be a warm bubble bath. For another, a cup of hot tea enjoyed without interruption. It might be sitting outside, listening to music, praying, reading or simply spending a few minutes alone.
There is no perfect picture of self-care. What matters is making room for something that helps you feel rested, grounded or connected to yourself.
And it does not have to cost money.
You do not need a vacation, a spa appointment or an entire day with nothing to do. Those moments can be wonderful, but care can also happen in the middle of an ordinary day: putting your phone down while you drink your tea, taking a quiet break after work or allowing yourself to rest without immediately finding another task.
Try asking yourself: “What do I need today?”
The answer may change. Some days you need quiet. Other days you need laughter, movement or a conversation with someone who listens to you.
Making time for yourself may also mean saying, “I cannot do that today,” or, “I need a few minutes before I can help.” You can love people and still have limits.
Give yourself a little space each day when you can. Start small enough that it feels possible. If the day gets away from you, begin again tomorrow—self-care should not become another reason to criticize yourself.
For me, the beach is a beautiful reminder to pause. Watching the water creates a moment to look beyond the next task and simply be.
Wherever you find your own moment of peace, make room for it.
You deserve to be included in the care you give.
